About Expert Tutor
I have been tutoring for the past 20 yrs and it all started when I was hired as tutor at the college I was enrolled in. I tutored Algebra, Chemistry, Biology and proof read essays for grammatical errors. I ran study groups to prepare students for their quizzes and exams. In all my sessions I used socratic method which involves more of the student input than mine in coming up the solution for the problem. I don't believe in doing problem for the student and have her/him study the steps on how I did it. It hasn't proven to be an effective method.
Once I graduated from college and though word of mouth I started my private tutoring business. Over the years I develop a good amount of clients that I couldn't do it own my own so I hired my friends who graduated with me and were also interested in tutoring. Expert Tutor LLC was formed and we offered in home and online tutoring. Since 2015 we have been running the business very successfully and have helped 100s of students in achieving success in the courses that they initially struggling and ended up passing with B and up. Expert Tutor helps students over come their fear in Math especially Algebra.
